I believe my words, anon, were that Jennifer has a much better grasp on gender issues than the two of them combined. Which…considering some of Rob and Diane’s plots and tweets, I suppose it isn’t that difficult to achieve.

Anyone remember when:

• Perhaps the most notable and the one I bring up the most frequently because holy shit can you get more problematic is the Duncan plotline. Specifically, the one where he raped Veronica whilst she was unconscious/barely conscious and the narrative dismissed it as, “feelings and nature”. Two episodes after that, Duncan and Veronica get back together after he set up camp at her place of work daily. Great.
• The infamous 3x08 episode, written by Diane and approved by Rob, in which a man is raped by “rogue feminists” with an Easter egg. Apparently, watch out for those women advocating for campus rapists to be held responsible! They may rape other people and fake rapes!
• Going off of that, the fake rape arc was absolutely fucking despicable. Too many women are dismissed and called liars when they are raped. 97% of rapists walk free. We don’t need our media to endorse the message of women faking rapes are this commonplace thing.  
• And how can we forget Diane’s rape jokes when livetweeting 3x08?  I was even requested to take down the screencapture of it because “Hey, she apologized through someone who wasn’t even her so let’s just forget this ever happened!” As much as I try to go by the policy of people should be commended for learning from their mistakes, the fact that the apology wasn’t even sent out on her public twitter as a tweet bugged the hell out of me. And continues to do so. 
• I’m sure you’ve already read Iris’ fabulous meta on Parker.

As much as I earnestly love the show and Veronica, there are some plotlines here that really piss me off. I don’t think Rob and Diane are inherently misogynistic or they really believe that rape should be overlooked if you really love the guy/feminists are crazy rapists/rapes are faked. I do think they fall victim to the toxic culture around us. And I do think it is important to be aware of that and help educate others on that.
